Provide First Aid & CPR Training

HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID003 - This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings.
We offer courses on the weekends (Saturdays and Sunday), as well as during the weekdays, at our fully equipped Training locations close to public transport. Our First Aid Training Staff have extensive experience in First Aid, and they are extremely professional in communicating the knowledge and skills required to be a competent.
The course takes approximately eight hours in classroom face-to-face as well as pre-course self-study at your own pace.
Course Content
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid responce to infantsm children and adult educations and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Industry/ Enterprise/ Licensing Requirements
Many workplaces require a current and up to date first aid certificate as a licensing requirement.
The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that all those trained in CPR should refresh their CPR skills at least annually. First Aid certificates will also require a refresher every 3 years. Students/workplaces will be advised of this recommendation when undertaking training.
Entry Requirements
-Students must have the physical ability to provide resuscitation by kneeling on the floor and performing two 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR
-Students must be minimum of fourteen 14 years of age
-Students under the age of 18 will be required to provide signed parental consent form prior to attending the course
Delivery Arrangements
There are two options in the way this course is delivered. The course is either delivered in 7.5 face-to-face hours plus self-paced learning, or it is delivered through 18 hours of face to face training.
Students completing the option that includes self-paced learning are expected to complete 10.5 hours of self-paced learning prior to attending the course, by reading through their text book and preparing for the theory based assessment that will be conducted at the beginning of the practical session.
